Mini Break in Morocco
Day 1
The Mini Break starts at the port of Tarifa, where you will collect your return ticket from the FRS office. (by telling them the booking reference number that will have been issued to you on your reserving a place on the trip) You will then board the fast ferry for Tangier - normally in the mid afternoon. (35 minute crossing) You will gain an hour on arriving in Morocco.
At the Port of Tangier, a driver will be waiting, and transport will be provided for the journey to Chefchaouen. (1.5 to 2 hours)
When you arrive at Chefchaouen you will be taken to the hotel, where the Trek organiser will meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
Evening meal at the hotel restaurant.
Day 2:
Group is met by the guide after breakfast and he then conducts a 'Town Tour' for those who wish.
At around 1200 hrs the group takes light refreshment, and then the Trek commences.
The Trek takes a circular route around the mountains behind the town. The first hour involves a constant but quite shallow climb along firm and quite well used tracks. A small cluster of houses comes into view at about the half way distance. This is a mountain hamlet called 'Cala'. A number of cottage industries are based in this pueblo, and there is a possibility that the group may be able to see some of the artisan products being made. It is at around this point also that the group takes a break in order to eat and drink. Trekkers return to Chaouen at around 1800hrs, in good time for a shower and relaxed evening meal.
Day 3:
After breakfast at the hotel, participants can elect to take a tour of the Kasbah, in which is situated a museum, an art gallery and a prison! A guide is available in the Kasbah, for those who would like to learn a little of the history and culture of the town and the region. There is also an 'open air theatre' within the confines of the Kasbah, where a wide variety of entertainment is staged throughout the year.
After the Kasbah there is the possibility to experience the delights of the Hammam. This is a 'Turkish Baths' where an 'intensive' body massage is included in the entry fee. Evening meal provided at Restaurant Casa Hasan The remainder of the day / evening is free time.
Day 4: Breakfast at hotel followed by free time until when...
Taxi arrives at 1230hrs - back to Tangier.
